Purple Imp
2021 - 2022
This project is personally significant as it marked the start of my interest and carreer in visual design for Musicians and events. My great friends Purple Imp and Paccie Don were on track of releasing their debut album. having spent many days in the studio with them, we decided that I would contribute to this project visually. this got way out of hand, and we spent nights developing specialized visual scenes and themes for every single track of the album. to start this, we fully Photoscanned both of them into digitalized 3D models, emphasizing the "digiverse" theme of them exploring all sides of a digital game-like world. all visuals were made in Unity 3D, kitbashing many 3D assets from my Game-Development library into new dedicated environments. to further expand the worldbuilding we created a short Story Trailer. after this project, I received many more requests for visual design, which kicked off my professional carreer as visual designer.
Mistery Machine was obviously inspired by Scooby Doo, so we decided to recreate the iconic Hallway door scenes and comically spooky atmosphere from the series.
For addy we decided to have Imp wander around a desolate alien planet, since the girl he was going to see sent him the wrong adress
For beyond we wanted Imp to be picked up by aliens, which take him beyond to the next part of the Digi-verse, continuing the story
Cellular shows Imp and Don experimenting in an advanced laboratory, researching illicit substances and accidentally creating a lifeform
Solid Snake is thematically uninspired, I just wanted them to fly a car in space because it's cool
Static was inspired by our favorite arcade, so we created a sci-fi arcade hall with Imp playing his own character in a fighting game
Overlord is a heavy evil song, so I wanted to portray him overlooking an entire planet like a real space overlord destroyer of galaxies
WDYM is a videoclip shot and edited by Icygits, featuring shots of Imp and Don in neonlit environments
Die rich speaks for itself, the song is about comically large amounts of money, so we made Imp into Scrooge McDuck diving into his money
Ecstasy's laid back sound inspired me to have imp drive the Akira bike through a sci-fi version of Miami Beach
for some tracks that were added later, we decided to just use an animated version of the album's cover art.
Level Up is a short song which sounds like a sort of intermission, so I created this simple stylized visual to give the feeling of a short pause
